A few days ago, I was innocently reading blogs when I discovered that Chris was planning on doing a Tough Mudder in September. I’m sure you’ve heard of these events but just in case, here’s an inspirational video that’s intended to convince you to participate:
I’m frankly a little terrified by this event. I’ve never been a boot-camp kind of girl. I can handle distance running but I have no upper body strength. Fire? Heights? Water? Mud? OK, yeah, those things are a little scary too but not insurmountable. One of the things I’ve learned recently is that if something scares me, I should probably do it. I don’t always succeed but sometimes I do, and when I do, it’s the sweetest victory. So, after a pow wow with my husband, we decided to volunteer for the July event near Buffalo for two purposes: 1. to get a discount on our tickets for the Toronto event and 2. to get a sneak peek at the action so I’ll know what I’m in for. Maybe in the process I can convince hubs to play along, too?

That’s so exciting that you are volunteering before you do the event. I told Chris I have no interest in this race, but I would be more apt to do it next year if I could watch it first this year.
Aw shucks — well I hope I still get to meet you! I agree with you though. These events sound really scary! I hope I survive!
OOoohhhh! Yes! Awesome! This post makes me excited!

I want to do a Tough Mudder but am a little nervous as well! Like fear of not being able to accomplish a certain obstacle. Looks very fun though!
